BARNES & NOBLE TO HOST BOOK FAIR FOR HOLMES DISTRICT SCHOOLS
Please support Poplar Springs High School by shopping at Barnes & Noble in Dothan, Alabama this weekend. In an effort to raise funds to buy books for classroom libraries, we are working together with Barnes & Noble Booksellers by hosting a Bookfair at the Dothan store.
Beginning on Friday, May 2 through Sunday, May 4, Barnes & Noble will donate a percentage of every sale made with a special Bookfair voucher to Poplar Springs! Vouchers will be available online at the Holmes District website www.hdsb.org and in hard copy at our school schools and a letter was sent home with 3 vouchers on the back. Please feel free to copy and give to as many people you know that might visit the bookstore this weekend.
The Barnes & Noble Bookfair will help our schools in several ways. First, a percentage of Bookfair sales will help to fund classroom libraries. Second, teachers will be able to create a wish list for titles to enhance their classroom collections. Bookfair supporters may choose books from an in-store wish list display to purchase for our schools. For more information please feel free to contact: Maelynn Hatfield, Poplar Springs High School, at 263-6260 (hatfieldm@hdsb.org)
The 6th-11th grade Reading students will be reading the book, "Prince Caspian" during the next two weeks. As a follow up for the book, these students will be going to Dothan to see the newly released movie, "Prince Caspian". Date: May 22, 2008
Cost: $7.75 - This includes movie ticket and gas.
Students may begin turning money in to Ms. McSwain on Monday, May 5, 2008. Deadline for turning in money will be May 19, 2008. All students must have a notarized field trip form on the file at PSHS. We are very excited about this trip. We will have three buses going on this trip.
Thank you,
Ms. McSwain
